Turnovers plague Pirate football in loss to Franklin County

The Greensburg football team saw six drives end with turnovers in a 41-7 loss on the road at Franklin County Friday night. The Pirates fumbled three times, failed to execute a punt in their own end, and threw two interceptions in the loss. Senior running back Brayden Rankin led the way offensively for the Pirates, catching a 15-yard Bryson Abplanalp touchdown pass and rushing for 42 yards on 17 carries. Junior Carson Miller was the Pirates' leading receiver, catching three Abplanalp passes for 25 yards. Abplanalp finished the night 7-19 passing for 69 yards. Rankin led the Pirates defensively with five tackles and a forced fumble. Junior Reed Hungerford tallied 4.5 tackles, including one tackle for loss, blocked a punt, and recovered a fumble. The Pirates (0-6) are back in action Friday night for Homecoming against rival Batesville. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
