A furious third-quarter run by Class 3A No. 9 Scottsburg proved to be too much for the No. 5 Greensburg girls basketball team in Saturday's regional championship at Charlestown High School. The Pirates fell 62-51. Greensburg took a four point lead into the locker room thanks to a three-pointer from Aly Powers right before the halftime buzzer. However, the Warriors outscored Greensburg 28-12 in the third quarter. The Pirates cut the deficit to as few as seven in the final quarter, but could not close the gap any further. Mylie Wilkison scored the first five points of the game for Greensburg and ended with 16 points. Powers scored 14 points. Leah West scored 12. Scottsburg's Ellie Richardson led all scorers with 28 points. The Pirates finish their season at 21-5 as EIAC and sectional champions.
