Freshman Harper Adams threw a three-hit shutout in her varsity debut for the Greensburg softball team Tuesday night, pushing the Pirates to a season-opening 4-0 win on the road against Tri. Adams was one of six freshmen on the lineup card for Greensburg. Adams struck out 13 Titans in the win. Tri did not have a runner advance to third base until the final inning. That runner was picked off third base by senior catcher Carlee Adams to end the game. All four runs for Greensburg came in the second inning. Senior Alexis Condon led off the inning with a double and was brought home on a sacrifice bunt by freshman Kamryn Haas. A series of singles added another three runs to the board. The Pirates hammered out six hits on the afternoon, including a pair from Condon. The Pirates (1-0) travel to Madison on Wednesday, March 27 for a 5:30 p.m. first pitch. Greensburg plays its first four games of 2024 on the road. The home opener is scheduled for Thursday, April 4 against Batesville.
