The Greensburg boys baseball team held a led through four innings in their 2024 season opener at Lawrenceburg, but a three-run fifth inning for the Tigers led to a 4-3 defeat for the Pirates. Junior Caleb Griewe got the opening day nod. Griewe went 4.2 innings, allowing three earned runs on three hits while striking out four Tigers. Senior Bryson Kelso worked a scoreless 1.1 innings to finish the game. The Pirates knocked out six hits in the contest. Senior Justin Adkins scored two of the Pirates' three runs after reaching base in all four plate appearances. The Pirates (0-1) were scheduled to play Tuesday evening at home against Madison, however that game has been rained out. Greensburg returns to the field Thursday when they host Lawrenceburg for a 5:30 p.m. first pitch.
