The Greensburg boys golf team opened their EIAC schedule on a cold, wet Thursday night at Hidden Valley Golf Course in Lawrenceburg with a three-way meet win against Lawrenceburg and East Central. The Pirates shot 187. East Central was second with a 191 and Lawrenceburg was third with a 197. Greensburg's Colten Schroeder shared medalist honors with Lawrenceburg's Cam Williamson. Both players shot a 41. For the Pirates, Logan Simpson shot a 47. Brant Acra carded a 48. Hunter Springmeyer finished with a 51. "It's always good to come away with some conference wins, but it was a dreadful night on the golf course," coach Bryce Mize said. "In the cold, wet, and windy conditions, good scores were certainly hard to come by." "We also had some unfamiliarity with the course, so hopefully we were able to learn some things in preparation for the conference meet there in May. Though it was a tough night, we have to learn how to battle through and stay focused. Colten did an excellent job of that.," he said. The Pirates are back on the course Friday, April 12 when they open their home schedule at Greensburg Country Club against Connersville. Tee time is 5 p.m.
