The Greensburg baseball team scored a pair of runs in the final two innings, but Saturday afternoon's rally at Columbus East fell short. The Pirates lost 3-2. Junior Lance Coy got the start for the Pirates. He allowed three earned on two hits and two walks in four innings of work while striking out three Olympians. All three runs came in the fifth innings, chasing Coy from the mound in favor of senior Gavin Owens, who worked two scoreless innings, scattering two hits and a walk. Offensively, Owens drove in a run on an RBI single. Junior Cy Miller also drove a run home on an RBI single. Sophomore Ethan Smith collected the other two hits on the afternoon for Greensburg. Greensburg now sits at 2-2 on the season. They return to conference play Monday night when they travel to South Dearborn for a 5:30 p.m. first pitch.
