Baseball explodes for five-run fifth inning to beat South Dearborn

The Greensburg baseball team found themselves in an early 5-0 hole on the road after two innings against South Dearborn Monday night. The Pirates pushed one run across in the fourth inning and five runs across in the fifth inning to rally for a 6-5 victory. Junior Caleb Greiwe pitched 6.2 innings and earned the win, allowing two earned runs on eight hits while striking out seven. Senior Gavin Owens came in to pitch the final out. The Pirates collected six hits on the evening, led by senior Justin Adkins who collected two hits, including a double, and drove in a run. The Pirates move above the .500 mark at 3-2 overall and 3-1 in the EIAC. The Pirates are back on the mound Tuesday night against Hauser for a 5 p.m. first pitch.
