Girls tennis splits with East Central, Shawe

The Greensburg girls tennis team suffered their first defeat of the season Thursday night in a 3-2 loss to East Central. The Pirates rebounded with a 5-0 win against Shawe Friday night. In Thursday's meet, both doubles pairings earned wins. Janae and Mya Comer won 6-1, 6-2. Morgan Cain and Claire Nobbe win 7-5, 6-1. In singles, Mary Harmon lost 6-4, 2-6, 0-6 in No. 1 singles. Emma Kuntz lost 2-6, 1-6 in No. 2 singles. Kayla Kramer fell 0-6, 5-7 in No. 3 singles. On Friday, all three singles players rebounded to earn wins. Harmon won 6-2, 6-3. Kuntz won 6-2, 7-5. Kramer won 6-2, 6-1. The Comer sisters won 6-0, 6-1. No. 2 doubles won by forfeit. The Pirates return to the court Monday night when they host South Dearborn at 5 p.m.
