Baseball's home win streak snapped by Batesville

The Greensburg baseball team had been a perfect 6-0 at home in 2024 until an 8-1 loss at the hands of Batesville Thursday night. The Pirates gave up four runs in the first and four runs in the seventh. Lance Coy was on the mound for Greensburg. He threw five innings, allowing three earned runs on four hits and three walks. Coy struck out six. Justin Adkins finished the game, allowing four earned runs on five hits in two innings. Gavin Owens, Caleb Greiwe, and Leland Workman each collected a hit. Workman scored the lone run for Greensburg. The Pirates (6-4, 4-3 EIAC) are back in action Friday night against Oldenburg Academy at 7 p.m.
