Baseball's rally falls short at Franklin County

The Greensburg baseball team found themselves in a 4-0 hole after two innings Monday night at Franklin County. The Pirates pushed one run across in the fourth and three in the sixth, but could not finish the rally, losing 5-4. Junior Caleb Greiwe started on the mound, allowing four earned runs on eight hits while striking out six. Junior Chase Tekulve finished the game, throwing two scoreless innings on two hits and three strikeouts. Offensively, senior Leland Workman, senior Justin Adkins, and junior Lance Coy all had multi-hit days. Workman went 2-3 with a triple and an RBI. Adkins hit two doubles in the game and drove in a run. Greensburg plays Franklin County again on Thursday at home. First pitch is set for 5:30 p.m.
