Three-run fourth inning pushes baseball past Connersville

The Greensburg baseball team did all of their work in Thursday's fourth inning, scoring all three of their runs in a 3-2 victory over visiting Connersville on Senior Night. Senior Justin Adkins started for the Pirates, allowing one earned run in 6.2 innings. Adkins struck out nine Spartans while allowing five hits and walking one. Senior Gavin Owens earned the save, finishing the final out to secure the win. Owens also drove in two of the Pirates' three runs on a home run. Junior Caleb Greiwe contributed two hits. The Pirates (11-7, 8-6 EIAC) are back in action Friday night at North Decatur at 5 p.m.
