Greiwe drives in three, allows one in strong pitching effort in Pirates win

The Greensburg baseball team earned their 12th win of the season Monday night with an 8-1 win at Union County behind a strong effort from junior Caleb Greiwe. Greiwe threw four innings of one-run ball while striking out four. Greiwe also drove in a trio of runs on a three-hit night, including two doubles. The Pirates hammered out 12 hits, including three hits from junior Lance Coy and two hits from senior Gavin Owens. Sophomore Luke Hoeing entered in relief of Greiwe, shutting out the Patriots over three innings of work, allowing three hits and striking out a pair. Greensburg (12-7, 8-6 EIAC) play their final regular season game Tuesday night at Jennings County. First pitch is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
