Greensburg's Lance Coy allowed only one earned run in four innings of work in Monday's IHSAA Sectional 29 championship game against Batesville, but two costly errors by the Pirates' defense allowed four unearned runs to score in a 6-2 loss to rival Batesville. Coy allowed seven hits and struck out four Bulldogs. Seniors Gavin Owens and Leland Workman scored runs for the Pirates. Owens lone hit was a double. He was later scored by senior Justin Adkins. Workman reached base after being hit by a pitch and later scored on an error. Junior Caleb Greiwe hammered out three of the Pirates' seven hits. Greensburg finishes their season with a record of 13-9, their highest win total since 2018.
