Boys soccer falls in double overtime to Lawrenceburg

Greensburg boys soccer hosted Lawrenceburg on Saturday for their final EIAC matchup of the season, falling 2-1 in the Tigers in double overtime. Lawrenceburg started the scoring in the game's first ten minutes, but Greensburg was able to find an equalizer before halftime when Ethan Smith found the back of the net off of an assist from a Cy Miller free kick. The Pirates and Tigers battled to a scoreless second half and took a 1-1 tie into OT, where the Tigers were able to find the game-winning goal with nine seconds left in the second overtime period. The loss is the 4th in a row for the Pirates and drops their record to 8-7 and 3-4 EIAC. Greensburg finishes fifth in the EIAC with a 3-4 record for the second year in a row. Greensburg's final regular season game is on Thursday against Morristown before sectional play begins next week. Thursday's match begins at 7:30 p.m.
