Boys soccer defeats visiting Morristown on Senior Night

Greensburg boys soccer hosted Morristown in their final regular season game Thursday night, defeating the Yellow Jackets 4-1. Greensburg celebrated their 8 seniors before kickoff: JR Frensemeier, Tristen Hostetler, Christopher Mains, Cy Miller, John Robbins, Sam Tuchmann, Owen Wheatley, and Joey Yake. Morristown scored in the first half to take a 1-0 lead into halftime. The Pirates were held scoreless until the final 10 minutes of the match, when Miller scored on an assist from Ethan Smith. Yake was able to give the Pirates the lead on a free kick and just moments later, Smith extended the lead on a penalty kick. The night was capped off on another goal from Miller, who followed up on a saved shot by Morristown's keeper. The Pirates finish 9-7 (3-4 EIAC) on the regular season. IHSAA Sectional 26 is next. The Pirates open play at Rushville against the host Lions on Monday at 5:30 p.m.
