Girls Tennis now 10-0 after Tuesday win at Jennings County

The Greensburg girls tennis team remains undefeated after defeating Jennings County in straight sets on Tuesday night. The Pirates lost only six games in the match to push their season mark to 10-0. Both doubles pairings, Ella Chapman and Janae Comer and Hailey Duerstock and Josie Nobbe, won 6-0, 6-0. At No. 1 singles, Jenna Foster won 6-3, 6-1. At No. 2 singles, Abigail Hoeing won 6-1, 6-0. Mary Harmon won 6-0, 6-1 at No. 3 singles. "We knew going into this match that [Jennings County's] doubles team were struggling," head coach June Rigney said. "I was happy to see we capitalized on that with aggressive play. I was also pleased to see our singles players play with consistency from beginning to end." The Pirates are now ranked No. 6 in District 8 by the Indiana High School Tennis Coaches Association. They return to the court Thursday at Eastern Indiana Athletic Conference foe Franklin County at 5 p.m.
