Colten Schroeder earned conference medalist honors with a career-best round of 70 on Saturday at Greensburg Country Club, pushing the Pirates to a second-place finish in the Eastern Indiana Athletic Conference match. The Pirates recorded a team score of 318, finishing second to Connersville by nine strokes. Schroeder's 70 was followed by Parker Phillips' season-best 76, Abe Tebbe with an 84, and Hunter Springmeyer's 88. "You can't really be too upset with a 318," head coach Bryce Mize said. "If you would have given me that score at the beginning of the round, I would have gladly taken it." "Most years, that's definitely a winning score. Unfortunately for us, Connersville played an excellent round. We certainly didn't lose it, they just went out and won the thing. I was proud of our effort from start to finish." The Pirates are back on the course Tuesday night at Greensburg Country Club against Batesville and Milan.
