The Greensburg girls tennis team added a sectional championship to their impressive season, defeating Southwestern Hanover 5-0 on Saturday to push their season record to 18-0. The Pirates lost just five games across their five matches. At No. 1 singles, Jenna Foster 6-0, 6-1. At No. 2 singles, Abigail Hoeing also won 6-0, 6-1. At No. 3 singles, Mary Harmon won 6-0, 6-0. In doubles action, No. 1 pairing Janae Comer and Ella Chapman won 6-1, 6-0. In No. 2 doubles, Hailey Duerstock and Josie Nobbe won 6-0, 6-1. " It was a great day of tennis for us and it is very rewarding to see these girls accomplish great things," head coach June Rigney said. "They are such a great group to coach and mentor. They enjoy working hard, enjoy winning, and enjoy being around each other." The Pirates advance to the regional round of the IHSAA tournament to face Bloomington North on Tuesday. The regional will be played at Bloomington South.
