The Greensburg boys golf team ended their season on Friday with a fourth-place finish in the sectional held at Greensburg Country Club. The Pirates scored a 328, missing a regional qualifying score by only two strokes. Columbus North won the event with a team score of 292. Columbus East and Shelbyville also advanced to the regional. Colten Shroeder fired a 79, good enough to advance to the regional as an individual. Parker Phillips shot an 81, Abe Tebbe shot an 83, and Hunter Springmeyer shot an 85 to round out the scoring for the Pirates. "Even though we didn't make it through to the regional and fell short of our season goal, I could not be more proud of these guys," head coach Bryce Mize said. "They simply had an amazing season. In my 12 years at the helm, this has been the lowest-scoring team I've coached." "The amount of work that they put in to become better golfers cannot be understated," Mize said. "I know a lot of them left the course today with their heads hung low, but I look at it as an opportunity to regroup and come back even better next year."
